Great Stour at Tonford hit by a month’s rain in one day bursts its banks
Unprecedented torrential rain on Monday 30th April (nearly 60mm in one day) saw the flood plain at Tonford inundated. Fishing the river will be impossible for many days to come. Extreme weather like this is becoming more common and both Al and I noticed when we were at Rutland earlier in the April that the normal Spring cycle was at least 2/3 week behind the norm.
